UTILISING THROW AWAY STARTER ......

Usually one throws part of the starter while refreshing/ feeding it , i am using that in my cakes .... i mix 1 cup starter upper portion (my starter does not have a hooch... i guess ,since i use it soo much :P ) throw away with 1 cup all purpose flour. mix them and keep them to preferment overnite or simply put it in the fridge if not planning to bake a cake the other day...
i used this whole amount in the apple cinnamon cake ... 1 and a half apples sliced... half cup oil , 1 more cup fl. and 4 eggs , a cup and a qrtr castor sugar.... one and a half tsp baking powder.,. a pinch of salt ..
poured some batter and layered apples sprinkled with cinnamon powder .... poured batter again ..repeated with apples... sprinkled some more cinnamon and sugar !!
baked at 180 for 45 mins or so in my electric LG oven... YUMMmmmmm :D

The best part about incorporating the preferment of throw away starter portion is that the cake recipe calls for lesser amount of oil !! ... and the Texture is simply SUPERB..... Thank You my Angel Yeast :) SOURDOUGH .... U ROCK !
